No one goes above and beyond more for students than Trish Caughran, our office manager for the Student Media Center. Trish is our best friend, our confidant, our shoulder to cry on, and, most importantly, our cheerleader always. Thank you Trish, we love you.
A faculty member who has made a huge difference in my life while at ETSU is Ms. Laura Terry. She gave me an audition for the gospel choir and afforded me the opportunity to leave my home state and come to Johnson City and attend ETSU. Big shout out to Ms. Laura Terry.
Dr. Reid Blackwelder, who is our chair of Family Medicine. He really inspired me to start being interested in Family Medicine, which is now going to be my specialty that I'll be practicing here in a few months. And so I really appreciate him for taking the time to mentor me personally, always checks in with me when things are changing or new. And he has really been for me throughout this entire five year process that I've been here getting my MD-MPH.
I think a staff member that has worked tirelessly during this time to help everyone adjust to being online is Adam Greever. He has run the help test and help everyone be equipped to be able to run their classes through Zoom, be able to get wireless access through the campus, and to be able to have access to WiFi on the campus so that they can work remotely as well.
Almost all of them call me, text me, or email me just to make sure that I'm doing fine, my family is doing fine in Saudi Arabia, as well as my kids.
A faculty member who has made a positive difference in my life at ETSU has been Dr. Karen Kornweibel. Dr. Kornweibel has been with me since the beginning since the moment I stepped foot on this campus. Whenever I ran into trouble, I looked to Dr. Kornweibel. Whenever I needed advice, Dr. Kornweibel was there. This past couple of years would not have been the same without her, and I'm grateful for her mentorship.
When I think of a staff member who has made a positive impact on my ETSU experiences, the first person that comes to my mind is Nancy Meredith from the New Student and Family Programs. I first met Nancy when I started my IPS job in New Student and Family Programs my first semester. She instantly became like a campus mom to me. She always asks me how I'm doing, and I know she truly cares when she asks.
There are so many amazing faculty members who have made a big difference and impact on my life while I've been at Quillen, and I wanted to take this opportunity, especially since we aren't able to be together in person, to really thank them.
I just want to thank you all, and I want to say that I hope you have a great summer. Thank you.
I truly think that at ETSU has such an amazing faculty and staff all around, and thank you all for everything you do for us.
And I'd really like to thank all faculty and staff. To our faculty, I know how much work you've had to put in to transfer to virtual training, and I'm grateful for all of your efforts. And to our staff, I know the countless hours you have had to put in these past couple of weeks to help deal with all the unique and varying and difficult situations that have come up because of COVID-19, and I'm grateful for all of you. Thank you.
